Asuquomo is an independent Canadian musician with Nigerian roots. He was recently tagged in an article by bandcamp as "...an artist elevating Ottawa immigrant communities". With an entrancing gyration; Asuquomo’s Debut single Wide Awake was premiered at the 2019 Canadian Music Week, with an energetic and highly engaging self-directed Music Video which was shot at his birthplace in PortHarcourt, Nigeria.
MO toured across six universities on an Ontario Campus Tour in the Fall of 2015 and was presented with the Artist of the year Award by Le Rouge Affairs 2016. Asuquomo’s 2018 LP "This That Mo” released under birth name Morris Ogbowu, is the recipient of the Rick and Brune Sinneave Artsit Award, presented at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity 2018 - A fusion of AfroRap and Hip/Hop, inspired by an interest in and graphic adaptations, narrative witting and film.
Asuquomo performed as a special guest at 2016 Ottawa’s Bluesfest Mainstage and was invited back in 2018 to play an hour-long set with a live band at the 2018 RBC Bluesfest and has also shared stages with International acts like Wizkid, Jazz Cartier, Lido Pimienta, Zaki Ibrahim, Shay Lia, BROCKHAMPTON and Lil Yatchy's Label Affiliate Kodie Shane.
Asuquomo recently got elected onto the Board of Directors for Ottawa Music industry Coalition (OMIC) and is currently working on a debut EP
